Villa Verde Dominican restaurant is throwing a holiday tree-trimming party from 5:30-7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11 — and everyone’s invited.
Owner Jay Bastardo bought a huge live Fraser fir tree from the North Carolina mountains — and it’s so big it won’t fit inside! So he’s set it up outdoors, in front of the restaurant at 2601 E. 10th St.
Now that the tree’s in place, it needs some decorations. And that’s where you come in!
Bring an ornament to hang on the tree — any kind of ornament: plastic, metal, wood, ceramic. It can be simple or fancy or personalized with your name. (Remember, the tree will remain outside, so paper ornaments won’t hold up well in the elements.)
After you help trim the tree, you may visit with Santa (and Mrs. Claus, if she isn’t too busy baking!) Bill Hudson with 252Buzz will be on hand to take free photos of your family’s visit with Santa.
Then kids ages 12 and under may eat free at the Villa Verde Nacho Bar set up inside the restaurant.
So come out to Villa Verde on Dec. 11 for some Christmas cheer, great Dominican food and visits with Santa.
