The weather outside is frightful, but Villa Verde’s Asopao is so delightful!
What’s Asopao? It’s a traditional Dominican gumbo-style stew that’s the perfect food for this frigid weather.
Rice, onions, green peppers and red peppers are combined in a tomatoey broth with authentic spices.
The serving temperature is hot, but the spice level is mild.
A vegetarian version is offered at Villa Verde for $9.99, or you may select a choice of meats. Chicken Asopao ($10.99) is the restaurant’s best seller. There’s also Shrimp Asopao ($13.99), Lobster Asopao ($18.99) and Seafood Lover’s Asopao ($18.99).
It’s fragrant and warm and filling. Basically, it’s a bowl of Dominican warmth.
Tonight’s the perfect night for Asopao from Villa Verde. And get some to take home!
